No fewer than 500 youths belonging to different youth bodies have endorsed the candidacy of Honourable Chikwem Onuoha for the Imo North Senatorial bye election billed to hold October 31, 2020.

This is even as the youths appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State to cede the Imo North ticket of the party to the Isiala Mbano-born politician.

Addressing the youths who thronged the APC Secretariat along Okigwe road, Owerri today, the Deputy Chairman of the party, Honourable Ugochukwu Nzekwe, on behalf of the Chairman, Marcon Nlemigbo, described the action of the youths as democratic and thanked them for showing concern in the forthcoming bye-election.
\”Chikwem Onuoha is vibrant, strong  and a youth\”, Nzekwe said, while assuring that the party will ensure a level playing ground for all the aspirants.

He urged the youths to support any candidate that gets the ticket of the party for the main election.
\”Ours is to ensure we give all the aspirants a level playing ground for them to showcase their power. We commend all of you for choosing this path instead of violence. The party is happy about that and the party will do the needful. I am going to make sure I deliver your message to the Chairman. We are going to give all the aspirants ample opportunity to participate in the primary.\”

Earlier in their separate addresses, leaders of the various youth bodies said it will amount to political incorrectness and suicide for the leadership of APC and Imo North bye election screening committee not to choose Honourable Chikwem Onuoha as their candidate in the forthcoming  bye election.
