Today, in line with yearning for mentorship by the Young people that recently emerged from Imo youth millionaires program of the Imo State Governor, His Excellency Rochas Okorocha, on the 29th of May, 2017, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor accepted to and indeed set in motion the program to mentor those of them from Okigwe South Federal constituency, made up of Ehime-mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo LGAs.
Apart from the fact that he took time to inquire their about their choice areas of investment, he also advised those who yet had no businesses on how and what line of business to invest in.
In a bid to ensure that the money is not diverted into frivolities and non-profitable ventures, Hon. Okafor offered to finance the wedding of all the 15 single young men among them. This will ensure that the entire sum for the empowerment was channelled into a profitable business that will transform their lives and make them employers of labour in no distant time.
In the course of the mentoring, Hon. Okafor Promised to facilitate the purchase of a Bus for Mr. Adimadu Eric, from Umunachi ward in Obowo LGA. Eric is an Ex banker who is now a transporter riding someone's vehicle on hire purchase basis in Aba, Abia State. Hon. Okafor assures him that he'll own his own bus before next week runs out.
Again, He promised to pay airfares ticket for Mr. Chimaobi Ajaelu from Amakohia, Ihitte-Uboma, who wants to venture into shoe importation business from Cambodia. Chimaobi is already a shoe dealer but on a small scale, in "Aba Branch", a popular Business District in Ehime-mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
In the course of the mentorship, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Imo State, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu walked in, and also added voice to the mentoring by advising the lads to form a corporative so as enable pull resources together to delve into medium scale businesses, he equally made a donation to assist them fast track their plans.
Nigerian Ace International, and 2013 Nations cup winner, Emmanuel Emenike of Super Eagles and Fernabaché, Turkey, through the help of Deacon Chike Okafor offered to pay the flight fare of Mr. Divine Iwuji from Umunumo ward, Ehime-mbano Local Government Area who also has visa to travel to Malaysia to do business.
So many other of the young millionaires benefited from the generosity and magnanimity of Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor and his friends and even the Honourable member representing Obowo state constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly made a donation in cash to further their cause.
Before long, what was meant to be just a mentorship program became a rain of blessings on the mentees.
Present at the occasion were notable elders and party leaders across Okigwe South Federal constituency including a retired commissioner of Police, Elder Francis Ihechere, Immediate past commissioner for youth and sports, Hon. Rodney Tony Ajaelu, the chairman of APC in Okigwe zone, Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Onwueyiagba, a commissioner in Imo State Judiciary service Commission, Prince Kelechi Iwueze, Mr. Emma Emma Ibekwe among others.
Above all, the young millionaires received special prayers from Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, Deacon Njoku Bright Chimezie as well as Deaconess Akudo Okafor.
